Giving is integral to spiritual growth. As we become aware of God’s generous grace in our lives, we experience thankfulness. Deep thanksgiving translates into our own desire to be generous: wanting to help God with what God is trying to get done in the world.
It is possible to give without loving, but it is impossible to love without giving. The offering acceptable to God is our gratitude that we show in how we share with others. Because we love God. Because God loved us first. Because we love our neighbors, who all are God’s children.
General Fund giving benefits the full range of ministries that Carversville United Church of Christ offers to the community.
Emergency Food Fund supports food banks and other organizations in our local communities that address food insecurity through their programs and services.
Disaster Ministries works with areas impacted by a variety of circumstances, including but not limited to hurricanes, earthquakes, tsunamis, wild fires, and flooding.
One Great Hour of Sharing works with international partners to provide sources of clean water, food, education and health care, small business micro-credit, advocacy and resettlement for refugees and displaced persons, and emergency relief and rehabilitation.
Neighbors in Need is a special mission offering of the United Church Christ that supports ministries of justice and compassion throughout the United States.
Native American School outreach to fill Christmas stockings with needed school and personal care items for Navajo students at Tohaali Community School in Newcomb, NM.
Ukraine Relief Fund gifts will be sent to the national United Church of Christ, who will transmit them to church-related relief agencies for Ukraine refugees that now exceed 3 million in number.
