Do you have a special animal companion who means the world to you? Animals bring so much love into our lives unconditionally. We’d love to meet your faithful friend – whether dog, cat, bird, fish, llama or more — all animals (and people!) are welcome at our annual blessing of the animals. We hold this special event each August in the grove just behind the church. Each animal is given an individual blessing by Pastor Fogal, and we often feature music from a local performer. We hope you’ll consider joining us for this special event.
A tradition in the Village of Carversville since 1871, the annual Oyster and Pork Supper held in October draws hundreds each year from near and far. The event has long been a fund-raiser for the church and its mission projects as well as a time of fellowship for the community.
The preparation for the meal begins in the summer when approximately 2,500 ears of local corn are harvested and prepared for freezing. The week of the dinner the church kitchen is abuzz with many folks helping with last-minute preparations. Bright and early the day of the meal, many hands are dipping oysters (each oyster is dipped 3 times!) and the smell of roast pork begins to waft throughout the building. It’s only a few hours until the doors are opened for what is hoped to be a successful dinner. The dinner is a lot of hard work, but the camaraderie and community spirit, as well as the funds expected for various missions and to augment the budget have made it all worthwhile for Carversville United Church of Christ.
For those who want to get a jump on holiday shopping, there is also a special area filled with homemade jams, baked goods and crafts by local artisans for sale. Please find out more about the date and time on our events calendar.
One of the most popular events during the holiday season, our annual Festival of Foods supports the church and our mission projects while spotlighting some of the best local food artisan talent in Bucks County. We’ll have more than two dozen food and food-related vendors this year, a special silent auction and generous food-inspired baskets which will be raffled. You’ll be sure to find something you love and perhaps a holiday gift for someone special. Find out more details about this fantastic annual tradition on our events calendar.
We know each other and care about each other.
